15 Day Book Blogger Challenge - Day 5

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge | Good Books And Good Wine

The 15 Day Book Blogger challenge was created by April over at Good Books and Good Wine. Today's challenge is to recommend a tear jerker. There are quite a few popular ones that I'm sure many of you have read, such as The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and any Sarah Dessen or Nicholas Sparks book will give you a tear or two. So I thought I would recommend a little less popular tear jerker, but a good one, none-the-less.

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

Goodreads blurb:

Taylor Edwards' family might not be the closest-knit - everyone is a little too busy and overscheduled - but for the most part, they get along just fine. Then Taylor's dad gets devastating news, and her parents decide that the family will spend one last summer all together at their old lake house in the Pocono Mountains.

Crammed in a place much smaller and more rustic than they are used to, they begin to get to know eacah other again. And Taylor discovers that the people she thought she had left behind haven't actually gone anywhere. Her former best friend is still around, as is her first boyfriend...and he's much cuter at seventeen than he was at twelve.

As the summer progresses and the Edwards become more of a family, they're more aware than ever that they're battling a ticking clock. Sometimes, though, there is just enough time to get a second chance - with family, with friends, and with love.

Check out my full review of this book here. Here's a few thoughts and feelings I had on this book, for a more in depth description, please check out my full review. I really enjoyed this book. I felt for the characters and was really hoping that things would work out for each and every one of them. This book has all types of relationships in it, family, friends and romance that had my heart aching at one time or another. This is a perfect summer tear jerker.
