Five Books Coming with Me on Vacation to the Beach

Next week, I'll be hanging out by the Atlantic Ocean. I live in the middle of the U.S., a rather far distance from either coast. Needless to say, I'm stoked to be seeing the ocean again.

One of my favorite parts for trips is packing books to take with me. I tend to overpack and bring more than I end up reading, but I find it nice to have the options while I'm traveling. I'm trying to restrain myself because I'm feeling like I can read all the books since we are going to be away for a week.
Here's a few books I'm thinking about bringing with me.

On the Island (On the Island, #1)
On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves
I've been so hesitant to pick this one up but I keep hearing recommendations for this one. I'm still really nervous but since I've been putting it off for years, I think now is the time to dive in and finally read it. Plus the setting sounds perfect for beach reading!

Something in the Water
Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman
I first heard of this one from Reese Witherspoon's bookclub. The more I found out about it, the more I wanted to read it. This centers around a couple honeymooning when they find something in the water. This is written by an actress that was on Downton Abbey (which I loved) which intrigued me even more. This book has definitely found it's way into my beach bag.

Save the Date
Save the Date by Morgan Matson
I have read and enjoyed all of Morgan Matson's books (that she has written under Morgan Matson). It's time to read her latest and what a perfect summer read it looks like its going to be. All of her books have been perfect summer reads. I can't wait to read this one!

Dangerous Girls
Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas
I've heard many say that this book is their favorite Young Adult thriller. I've been holding off and waiting until summer to read this one and it's here. I've been in the thriller reading mood lately too.

What Alice Forgot
What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
I read and liked Big Little Lies and The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty. I've been meaning to read more of her work. When I came across a podcast episode talking about favorite honeymoon/beach reads and this book was mentioned, it sounded like a good reminder to bring this book along to the beach.

What books are finding their way into your beach bag?

  1. The only one of these I've read is Dangerous Girls. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on all of them! I've heard good things about Save the Date.
