This week I finished up The Raven King! It was a a whirlwind. I marathoned the series for the most part over this past month and it's so weird to have it all done. I'm left with SO MANY FEELINGS! After that I wanted something a little lighter but since I have a bit of a book hangover, I want something that's going to grab my attention.
Here's what I'm reading this Friday and the long weekend..
I started up The Square Root of Summer by Harriet Reuter Hapgood since it's due back at the library next week and I won't be able to renew it. I'm about 60 pages in and it isn't grabbing me like I wish it would just yet, but I hope that something happens soon. It's okay so far -- just not wow-ing me like I'm in the mood for.
The Way to Game the Walk of Shame by Jenn P. Nguyen is a review book, so I'll be fitting that one in this weekend. I haven't heard much about it as far as reviews go. But I'm excited to get into it; it sounds like a fun read.
If I finish up those two, I'll probably jump into one of these books I got from the library last weekend, or perhaps the Girl Against the Universe by Paula Stokes which I borrowed on ebook from the library, and I've been hearing some great things about.
Ooh, I'm very curious to hear what you think about The Square Root of Summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be finishing up Nil and possibly Flamecaster. If there's time, I'll also start The Last Star. :)
The SRoS wasn't for me, unfortunately :/ Do you plan to read it? I'd be curious to hear your thoughts!
DeleteOoo! I'm excited to hear what you think of The Last Star! (and Nil and Flamecaster, too:))
No, I haven't been in the mood for YA at all lately. And I've barely even read while in Germany, haha.
DeleteThe Last Star was kind of disappointing, and Flamecaster even more so. It was Flamecaster that made me realize I really need a break from YA, unless it's a reread. Nil was so ridiculous and cheesy, but it was one of the most fun buddy reads ever, and I'm planning to buddy read the next two books as well.
I miss talking to you, by the way! :D
(I haven't been keeping up with blogs, but when I commented on your most recent post, I fainlly remembered to go back and check for comment replies, haha.)
THE SQUARE ROOT OF SUMMER was a really great book, it’s just that the physics bit confused me, haha. Happy reading!! :D
ReplyDeleteThe physics were a bit confusing, but interesting too! Unfortunately overall, I don't think the book was for me. But I think it's definitely a book to be enjoyed as it had some great elements, I'm really glad you enjoyed it!!
