This Series Is A Perfect Marathon (and has a wonderful new spot on my favorites shelf)

Today, I'm reviewing the Under the Never Sky trilogy. I read this one earlier this year and fell completely in love. So let's talk about this new favorite series of mine!

Worlds Kept Them Apart.

Destiny Brought Them Together.

Aria has lived her whole life in the protected dome of Reverie. Her entire world confined to its spaces, she's never thought to dream of what lies beyond its doors. So when her mother goes missing, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland long enough to find her are slim.

Then Aria meets an outsider named Perry. He's searching for someone too. He's also wild - a savage - but might be her best hope at staying alive.

If they can survive, they are each other's best hope for finding answers.

My Thoughts: Addicting! I started this series and was immediately addicted. I can't believe that I've put off reading this series, but so glad I did because I was able to marathon the whole trilogy. When I started reading this, I wasn't sure if I was going to like Aria or not. In the beginning I felt she was naive and hard-headed to a point that I almost started to get frustrated with her BUT she developed and learned and she became one of my favorite female characters I have ever read.
And PERRY. A new book boyfriend, for sure. I'm completely in love with Perry! Perry and Aria are one of my favorite book couples, ever. ever, ever. I love their dynamic. There is no insta-love in this book and their relationship develops naturally, and at a steady pace.
The only problem I had with this book was that I felt that there was a lack of world-building. The world was so elaborate and unique, I  was dying to know more but a tad disappointed at the end of the book when I didn't find out why things were the way that they were...but this is to be solved.

My Thoughts: This book was even better than the first book. This book begins with action and it goes throughout the whole book up until the huge cliffhanger at the end. AND a huge plus that this book finally answers all the world-building questions that I had lingering after reading Under the Never Sky. I feel like perhaps UtNS works on building up the characters and this book works on not only characters but adds in the world.
The world in this series is FASCINATING. I love the whole concept and the uniqueness of not only the world that Aria and Perry live in, but the different worlds that they came from as well.
I loved getting to know Roar more in this book. He's definitely a favorite side character.
I couldn't get enough of Perry in this book. I don't think I could ever have enough of him. But I loved the way that Aria and Perry's relationship grew throughout this book as well.

My Thoughts: What a conclusion!! I wasn't sure where this was going to end and I was hanging on every single word throughout those last few pages. The ending couldn't have been better. But also the story throughout this last installment couldn't have been better.
This book is filled with non-stop action as the others, but revved up. I think this is the most action packed of the series.
There were so many characters I loved throughout the books and especially in this book, Aria, Perry (of course ;)), Roar, Cinder, and a few others. This book rendered me speechless.

Final Thoughts on the whole trilogy: I just can't tell you how much I love this series. It's definitely a new favorite. Shortly after reading this series I wanted to re-read it because I missed the world so much. I know it's a definite new fave if the desire to re-read the book right after I finish it is there! You guys, I beg you, if you haven't read this series yet, please pick it up!

Comments

  1. I read this series and loved it as well. Have you also read the short novellas? One is the story of Roar and Liv that takes place before the first book. (Honestly, it made me even sadder for Roar *sigh*) The second novella is about Brooke and takes place between the second and third book.

I love Perry. I wouldn't mind rendering to him. I'm happy with the ending too. (Much better than Allegiant)
