#TeaTime Rewind #72 | #ARCParty

I made it to #teatime this week for maybe the first (or second?) time this summer and I'm so glad I got to participate because there was an ARCParty! If you've never seen the +Epic Reads Tea Times then you're missing out, check them out on their YouTube Channel, Epic Reads and follow them on Twitter, @EpicReads to get reminders of when Tea Time is going to happen.

On to what happened this week on #teatime...

**First off, Currently Reading. I am currently reading Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas and I'm LOVING. IT.

**What book(s) am I most looking forward to that were featured ARCs at the #ARCParty. This Question is super, SUPER hard. I think I might have to do my top 5, because there were a few ARCs shown that I'm dying to read. If you click on the titles, it'll take you to their goodreads page so you can add them to your shelves. Also I'm adding in the blurbs from goodreads so you can see what each one is about.

Red Queen      A Thousand Pieces of You (Firebird, #1)      Even in Paradise

Endgame: The CallingGeek Girl (Geek Girl, #1)

Releases: February/March 2015
Mare Barrow's world is divided by blood - those with red and those with silver. Mare and her family are lowly Reds, destined to serve the Silver elite whose supernatural abilities make them nearly gods. Mare steals what she can to help her family survive, but when her best friend is conscripted into the army she gambles everything to win his freedom. A twist of fate leads her to the royal palace itself, where, in front of the king and all his nobles, she discovers a power of her own - an ability she didn't know she had. Except... her blood is Red.

To hide this impossibility, the king forces her into the role of a lost Silver princess and betroths her to one of his own sons. As Mare is drawn further into the Silver world, she risks her new position to aid the Scarlet Guard - the leaders of a Red rebellion. Her actions put into motion a deadly and violent dance, pitting prince against prince - and Mare against her own heart.

I can't resist fantasy, it's my favorite genre! This book sounds so dang good, the society, the world, the premise, everything about it - and look at that cover. I'M DYING TO READ THIS ONE. This book sounds phenomenal and I can't wait until next Feb/March...I might go crazy waiting for this book.

Marguerite Caine's physicist parents are known for their radical scientific achievements. Their most astonishing invention: the Firebird, which allows users to jump into parallel universes, some vastly altered from our own. But when Marguerite's father is murdered, the killer - her parent's handsome and enigmatic assistant Paul - escapes into another dimension before the law can touch him.

Marguerite can't let the man who destroyed her family go free, and she races after Paul through different universes, where their lives entangle in increasingly familiar ways. With each encounter she begins to question Paul's guilt - and her own heart. Soon she discovers the truth behind her father's death is more sinister than she ever could have imagined.

A Thousand Pieces of You explores a reality where we witness the countless other lives we might lead in an amazingly intricate multiverse and ask whether, amid infinite possibilities, one love can endure.

The premise of this book is what drew me in! And, of course, I can't forget about that stunning cover! Parallel universe settings always draw me in and this one has sort of a murder-mystery vibe to it as well. Definitely added this one to my MUST-READ list.

When Julia Buchanan enrolls at St. Anne's at the beginning of junior year, Charlotte Ryder already knows all about the former senator's daughter. Most people do... or think they do.

Charlotte certainly never expects she'll be Julia's friend. But almost immediately, she is drawn into the larger than-life-new girl's world - a world of midnight rendezvous, dazzling parties, palatial vacation homes, and fizzy champagne cocktails. And then Charlotte meets, and begins falling for Julia's handsome older brother, Sebastian.

But behind her self-assured smiles and toasts to the future, Charlotte soon realizes that Julia is still suffering from a tragedy. A tragedy that the Buchanan family has kept hidden... until now.

The Great Gatsby is my favorite classic of all time, so I can't resist a retelling, or a story that has anything to do with Gatsby or those that are part of Gatsby's story. That being said, Even in Paradise sounds AMAZING. I can't wait to read this one!

Twelve thousand years ago, they came. They descended from the sky amid smoke and fire, and created humanity and gave us rules to live by. They needed gold and they built our earliest civilizations to mine it for them. When they had what they needed, they left. But before they left, they told us someday they would come back, and when they did, a game would be played. A game that would determine our future.
This is Endgame.
For ten thousand years the lines have existed in secret. The 12 original lines of humanity. Each had to have a Player prepared at all times. They have trained generation after generation after generation. In weapons, languages, history, tactics, disguise assassination. Together the players are everything: strong, kind, ruthless, loyal, smart, stupid, ugly, lustful, mean, fickle, beautiful, calculating, lazy, exuberant, weak. They are good and evil. Like you. Like all.
This is Endgame.
When the game starts, the players will have to find three keys. The keys are somewhere on earth. The only rule of their Endgame is that there are no rules. Whoever finds the keys first wins the game. Endgame: The Calling is about the hunt for the first key. And just as it tells the story of the hunt for a hidden key, written into the book is a puzzle. It invites readers to play their own Endgame and to try to solve the puzzle. Whoever does will open a case filled with gold. Alongside the puzzle will be a revolutionary mobile game built by Google's Niantic Labs that will allow you to play a real-world version of Endgame where you can join one of the lines and do battle with people around you.
Will exuberance beat strength? Stupidity top kindness? Laziness thwart beauty? Will the winner be good or evil? There is only one way to find out.
Play.
Survive.
Solve.
People of Earth.
Endgame has begun.

After all that, you can't deny you're interested in this one, right?! I know I am! The premise sounds so unique and intriguing, and I love that the reader can play their own Endgame!

Harriet Manners knows a lot of things.

She knows that a cat has 32 muscles in each ear, a "jiffy" lasts 1/100th of a second, and the average person laughs 15 times per day. What she isn't quite so sure about is why nobody at school seems to like her very much. So when she's spotted by a top model agent, Harriet grabs the chance to reinvent herself. Even if it means stealing her Best Friend's dream, incurring the wrath of her arch enemy Alexa, and repeatedly humiliating herself in front of the impossibly handsome supermodel Nick. Even if it means lying to the people she loves.

As Harriet veers from one couture disaster to the next with the help of her overly enthusiastic father and her uber-geeky stalker, Toby, she begins to realize that the world of fashion doesn't seem to like her any more than the real world did.

And as her old life starts to fall apart, the question is: will Harriet be able to transform herself before she ruins everything?

I've been waiting for this book to come to the US! It's been out in the UK for awhile now and all I've heard is raving reviews. This book sounds witty and hilarious and I can't wait to laugh out loud with it!

Which ARC from #teatime are you really excited for?
