Let's face it. We all have commitments. Distractions. Things to do other than read.
Reading is so much more than something I enjoy to do. It's a way to relax. A way to journey to a different world. A way to learn. A way of adventure. I find that when I go more than two days without reading, I start to feel myself go a little crazy.
We all have...lives.
For me, lately I've barely had enough time to read...and I've been rather sad about it.

Then, when I do get back to reading on a regular basis, sometimes it's hard to get back into the groove. I miss reading. BUT not being able to read is only short-term. I have to remind myself that my read will still be there waiting. In the meantime, I should embrace life, read what I can (even if it's only ten pages) and keep moving forward, one day at a time.
Am I the only one or do you ever miss reading when life happens and things get busy? What do you jump back into reading when life settles again--whatever you were currently reading or something new?
I know exactly how you feel. I haven't completed a book since June. I have been away for a long stay at my long distance girlfriend's house, and as much as I love her I miss being able to read. I'm hoping I can pick back up in my books once I get back home.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not alone in missing reading! It's so bittersweet, because it's nice to be spending time with loved ones, but at the same time, I just want to read! I hope you get back to reading and your books sooner rather than later :D
