Top Ten Tuesday (10)

Hi! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. This week's list is

Top Ten Books Featuring Travel in Some Way

1. Just One Day by Gayle Forman. This book is one of my all time favorites and is filled with travels. Allyson goes on her travels by herself in Paris and all over Europe. I loved going with her as she ate macarons, mingled with strangers which became her friends and lived spontaneously.

2. Tiger's Curse Series by Colleen Houck. Every book in this series that I have read thus far (the first 3 books) has had an adventure in it. Kelsey, Ren and Kishan travel through jungles, ancient runes and magical places in and around India. I love getting wrapped up in their journeys.

3. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. What a beautiful book this was. The traveling to Amsterdam held so much meaning behind it. The travels were beautiful and gut-wrenching at the same time but it was wonderful to read about the freedom and fun that Augustus and Hazel were able to share with each other.

4. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. This is a story that happens when Anna travels over to Paris to go to school. I loved reading about Anna's adjusting to a foreign environment and the friends and romances that develop while she is in Paris.

5. The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith. This story begins in an airport and takes place over 24 hours in a whirlwind of travels around London and New York. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the fast-paced travels that matched the quick love that developed.

6. Can You Keep a Secret by Sophie Kinsella. This book begins on a plane where Emma spills her deepest secrets to a stranger. Though there is not much traveling after the beginning of the story, because the story begins on a plane, I think this one still counts. I think the idea that Emma believed she would never see the stranger again after her travels is also a part of traveling - many times you never think you will see those you meet on vacation again.

7. Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. This is another series that is filled with travels and adventures. In every book Percy and his gang are always on a quest all over the world to find what they are looking for. I love the Greek Mythology adventures that lie in these pages!

8. Incarnate by Jodi Meadows. This one doesn't really have much traveling in the form of planes, trains and automobiles. However Ana does set out on her own travels on foot. My favorite part of the book was reading about her journey into the wild.

9. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. This book joins a traveling circus in the 1900's that travels by train. I really liked reading about the traveling and the different occurrences in each town they went through.

10. White Horse by Alex Adams. This book has some traveling overseas by plane or boat but most of the traveling is done on foot. This book takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in which Zoe is traveling trying to find someone that she believes she lost. I really enjoy reading about post-apocalyptic travels.
