February Wrap-Up

For February I didn't read all the books I wanted and for a good reason... I had a baby! My son arrived mid-month and put a halt on some reading for a good week. Never-the-less I did manage to read a few books. Here's what I've read, what I rated them and a quick blurb about them:

Rapture (Fallen, #4) by Lauren Kate. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. I thought that this book was a great ending to the series. The twist at the end was one I didn't see coming and just gripped me by the ankles. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick. Rating: 3 out of 5 stars. I love the artwork in this book. The telling of the story in a mixture of words and pictures is so unique and a wonderful way to read a story. I liked it so much that I read another story by Selznick. This story was a short, good read.

Tiger's Curse (The Tiger Saga, #1) by Colleen Houck. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. When I finished this book, I was immediately wanting to pick up the next in the series. This hasn't happened to me in awhile. I loved the fresh plot and characters in this story; Ren is to die for. I am anxiously waiting to start the next book.

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. I read this book for a class and what a pleasure it was to read. This book opened up my eyes and made me cheer for Jr. My book is filled with little post-its marking my favorite quotes.

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. This is the second book this month that had me wanting to immediately read the next in the series. Tahereh Mafi's writing is absolutely beautiful. I did a full review on this book if you want more of my thoughts on this book.

The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. Rating: 3 out of 5 stars. This is the other book I read by Brian Selznick that had the same type format of telling a story with a mixture of pictures and words. While the story wasn't exactly my cup of tea I still loved reading and looking at all the beautiful pictures.
